About 2nd Position
The name comes from NLP — Neuro-Linguistic Programming — and a simple idea that changes how training and change work is designed.
In NLP, 1st Position is your own perspective. Everything is about you, your product, your agenda. You know the type.
2nd Position is when you step into the other person’s shoes. You see the world from their side before you act, sell, train, or lead.
That’s how I work. Before I design anything — a training programme, a change plan, a workshop — I understand the people it’s for. Not the org chart version. The real version. What they’re afraid of, what they care about, what will make them lean in or check out.
It’s a simple idea. It changes everything.
Where this shows up
The same lens underpins the 2nd Position Workshop (named explicitly after the concept), and it informs how I structure ERP rollouts, ADKAR engagements, and eLearning storylines — always learner- and stakeholder-first, never template-first.
